For coaches

Turn expertise into coaching leads.

Create an ebook lead magnet from the framework you already walk clients through — a workbook they complete before they ever book, so your first call starts in the middle instead of at the beginning.

The problem

Your best marketing is the session you give away.

Coaching is bought on evidence of competence, and the only evidence most prospects can get before paying is a conversation. So coaches give away conversations — free discovery calls, one after another, most of them with people who were never going to buy.

A workbook does the same job while you sleep. It shows how you think, it puts the reader through a real exercise, and it produces the one thing a discovery call is supposed to produce: someone who understands their own situation well enough to decide whether they want help with it.

The people who finish it arrive warm and specific. The people who do not, you never had to talk to.

How it works

Three moves, one afternoon.

  1. Take the session you repeat

Every coach has one: the framework that comes out in month one with almost every client. Paste your notes for it — the questions, the exercise, the thing you always end on.

Notes, or a document you already wrote

  2. Make it a workbook, not a lecture

Pick the coaching workbook structure and each chapter ends in something the reader writes down. A guide gets skimmed; a workbook gets done.

    Six chapters, five exercises

  3. Let it fill in your first call

The scoring exercise hands you an agenda before the call is booked. You open with what they wrote instead of with 'so, tell me about yourself'.

An agenda you did not have to ask for

Why it works for coaches

Six reasons this format fits this business.

It qualifies without an application form

Somebody who works through 24 pages of exercises has already decided they want this solved. The people who did not finish were never going to say yes to a fee.

It survives being a thumbnail

Coaching is sold on how competent you look before anyone has heard you speak. A typeset cover does more of that work than another headshot.

It becomes a paid product later

Workbooks sell where guides do not. The same file that grows the list this quarter can carry a price next quarter, unchanged.

It is the same advice, finally written down

You have explained this framework two hundred times. Once it is a book you stop retyping it and start pointing at it.

One page collects the addresses

The hosted opt-in page has your cover, one promise and one email field. Put the link in your bio, your signature, and the end of every talk.

Your name on it, not ours

Set the imprint and the author line once, point your own domain at the opt-in page, and CreateEbook is nowhere in the reader's experience.

A worked example

The Quiet Quarter

Mid-career professionals who are not unhappy enough to quit and not happy enough to stay, usually finding this in January or September.

The outline

  1. Inventory: where you actually are, on paper
  2. The story you are telling yourself about why
  3. What you want, stated so it can be tested
  4. Scoring the gap across five dimensions
  5. Designing one two-week experiment
  6. The check-in, and what each outcome means
  7. What to do with a score that does not move

24 pages · about 40 minutes to work through

The opt-in page

Not miserable. Not staying either.

A 24-page workbook: five exercises, one scoring sheet, one experiment to run this fortnight.

Questions

What coaches ask first.

What is a good lead magnet for a coach?
A workbook that gets the reader to write something down about their own situation. Career coaches: an inventory and a scoring exercise. Health coaches: a two-week experiment with a check-in. The format matters less than the fact that the reader does work in it, because a reader who has done work replies to your emails.
I am not a writer. Will the book sound like me?
It sounds like whatever you paste in. Coaches usually have more raw material than they realise — session notes, the intake questionnaire, the summary email you send after a first call. Upload one of those and the draft follows your register rather than inventing one.
How long should a coaching lead magnet be?
Twenty to twenty-eight pages if it contains exercises, because the reader is spending forty minutes rather than twelve. Shorter than that and it reads as a taster; longer and it stops getting finished.
Can I charge for it later?
Yes. Commercial use is yours and we take no cut. The same print-quality PDF uploads to Gumroad or Amazon KDP without being remade.
Do I need a website for this?
No. Every ebook ships with a hosted opt-in page at a link you can share immediately — in a bio, an email signature, or at the end of a talk. Point your own domain at it if you have one.
